Virtual Raffle for Oregon Wildfire Relief
You may have heard how the current wildfires here in Oregon are decimating entire towns and communities. Reports are that over 1500 structures including 700 homes have been lost. It’s so heartbreaking to think of losing a home, or worse, a loved one. I wanted to do something to help, something more than what I could do individually. So, this is what I came up with… a raffle of sorts. I have solicited donations, mainly from the quilting community on Instagram. Some really generous folks stepped up to donate some yummy quilting goodies! I’m so excited to be able to offer you the chance to win some cool stuff, all while helping those in need. One of the people that will benefit from the raffle is a f2 PDF Patterns by Laura at New Song Quiltingellow quilter and Treasurer of our Mid Valley Quilt Guild, Tami. She and her husband were fortunate to be awake at 1:00 in the morning and realize that the embers falling from the sky were getting larger and setting things on fire. By the time they drove away from home the fire was burning on both sides of the road. Thankful for their lives but a bit underinsured (her advice now is… make sure you have the proper insurance! :-), I’m happy to be able to raise some money to help them replace necessary items and maybe some of that stash that was years in the making.
I have put the items together in 2 bundles. Both bundles have a lot of the same items, especially the pdf patterns, but here are some significant differences as well, so look carefully! Tickets are $10 each, donations can be made via Venmo to Heidi-Rodli (preferred as there are no fees) or PayPal to Piece & Joy Quilting Co. Locals may contact me about donating in cash. In the notes with your donation please indicate which bundle you would like to win, Number 1 or Number 2. Please note that most items are downloadable PDF patterns. Shipping for the batting and T-Shirts are for U.S. residents only. You may want to check with the other folks who are providing gift certificates to see if they will ship items internationally if you are overseas. Postage may be additional.
